Opioid Legislation

Two new bills before the DC Council will provide additional resources in response to the opioid crisis. DCBHA will be monitoring these bills and expects to testify when hearings are scheduled. Please send an email to Mark.LeVota@DCBehavioralHealth.org if there are specific items of interest or concern within either bill that you would like DCBHA to consider as part of our testimony.

East End, School Health Innovation, and DC Alliance Bills

DCBHA provided testimony regarding four pieces of legislation pending in the DC Council. These will create a new hospital and health system in Wards 7 & 8, including a new hospital on the East End, create incentives for grocers to move into Wards 7 & 8, provide financing and subsidized loans for capital investments in health (including behavioral health) in Wards 7 & 8, provide grants to create new school-based primary care clinics with tele-video behavioral health access, and improve the DC Alliance program.
