School-Based Mental Health Plan Budget Support Act Amendment

The DC Council amended the proposed school-based mental health plan during its legislative session on June 27. Implementation of the plan will be delayed at least another year, and a study group, including CSA and non-CSA members, will make recommendations in advance of the Mayor's FY '19 budget proposal. Please see the language of the amendment attached.

DCBHA Testimony Regarding DBH FY '18 Budget

DCBHA testified on April 28 before the DC Council Committee on Health regarding the proposed FY '18 Department of Behavioral Health budget. We reviewed our budget recommendations submitted to Dr. Royster in the fall and itemized the ways this budget unfortunately falls short, and in some cases goes the wrong direction, from the recommendations we made. AASCB Portability Rules

The DC Board of Professional Counseling has reiterated that some license portability provisions are included for those transferring licensing from outside the District when seeking LGPC or LPC licenses. AASCB provides specific guidance particularly helpful for those who are already independently licensed in other jurisdictions.
