$10M Cut from Treatment for Severe Mental Illness

posted Apr 7, 2011, 4:01 PM by DC Behavioral Health Association
Treatment for adults and children with severe mental illness is slashed by almost $10 million in the proposed FY2012 budget.

The D.C. Department of Mental Health (DMH) administers a provider network that offers treatment and related services to adults and children with severe mental health conditions.  DMH faces severe cuts, totaling $9,762,453, which will directly reduce the availability of treatment.  The treatment funds are slated to be cut with no off-setting revenue sources.

The attached factsheet details the source of the cuts.
