DCBHA FY 18 Budget Request Letter to DBH

DCBHA has sent the attached budget request letter to Dr. Royster.

We request DBH investments in the following key areas:

·         $872,500, at minimum, to fund an MHRS rate increase of 2.5%;

·         $432,500 to fund an SUD rate increase of 2.5%;

·         $1,042,092, at minimum, to fund a redesigned Health Homes program;

·         1.5 FTE additional DBH staff members dedicated to Health Homes, to support implementation of a redesigned Health Homes program;

·         Sufficient funding for an increase in SUD recovery support services to reverse cuts that led to inadequate access to services and deterioration of clinical outcomes;

·         2 FTE additional DBH staff members to support information technology project management and systems deployment; and

·         Additional DBH staff members or a significant process redesign for both the Access Help Line and authorizations.

as  DCBHA members, consumer advocates, and others interested in DC behavioral health policy are encouraged to contact elected and appointed DC government officials, especially the Office of the Mayor and the DC Council's members on the Health and Human Services Committee, to request full funding for these priorities.
