D.C. Department of Mental Health Expands Workforce

posted Feb 16, 2011, 1:04 PM by DC Behavioral Health Association
The D.C. Department of Mental Health recently announced that it would modify its regulations to allow master's level licensed professional counselors to function as approving qualified practitioners (AQPs).  This regulatory change allows qualifying counselors to approve consumers' treatment plans, the qualifying document that establishes medical necessity for MHRS services.

This important change allows providers to expand their workforce by broadening the range of activities for qualifying licensed counselors.
