posted Mar 21, 2012, 3:24 PM by DC Behavioral Health Association
Please join the D.C. Behavioral Health Association on Thursday, March 29, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, for a briefing on local and federal FY2013 budget proposals for behavioral health.  The briefing will take place at Catholic Charities’ Hickey Center, 924 G Street NW (across from MLK Library).

President Obama's proposed FY2013 budget cuts funding for health homes and Medicaid.  What else does it hold for providers?  And what surprises are in the Mayor's FY2013 budgets for addiction recovery and mental health treatment?  Join us on March 29th to learn more.

Steve Baron, director of the D.C. Department of Mental Health, will review the FY2013 proposed budget for mental health.  Shaun Synder, acting director of APRA, will discuss the FY2013 proposed budget for addiction recovery treatment and prevention.  We'll also be joined by Rebecca Farley, a policy analyst with the Natonal Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare.  Ms. Farley will discuss proposed cuts in federal funding for Medicaid and SAMHSA.

Due to space and time limitations, please RSVP if you plan to attend, and we’ll ask people to submit questions in advance, once the Mayor releases the FY2013 budget next week.  RSVP and submit your questions to: dcbehavioralhealth@gmail.com.
