The DC Department of Health's Health Regulation and Licensing Administration has issued a new notice on behalf of the DC Board of Professional Counseling concerning practice for LGPC-eligible individuals who have not yet sat for the National Counseling Exam or are waiting for their LGPC licenses after passing.

The Board has asked us to share the following announcement:

The Board of Professional Counseling (“the Board”) will now accept requests for supervised practice. The purpose of the supervised practice form is to allow an applicant, with a complete application, the ability to work under supervision while the application is being processed. A Request for Supervised Practice Form is ONLY for Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) applicants. Have supervisees submit the Request for Supervised Practice Form for consideration immediately. If the request is approved, applicants will have a maximum of 120 days to work under supervision while their application is pending with the Board.

The Request for Supervised Practice Form is attached. Please distribute it to your members and other stakeholders.  Applicants can bring forms to Mr. David Walker, who will verify requests and let applicants know if they are approved. For immediate compliance the Request for Supervised Practice Form must be submitted by close of business Friday December 2, 2016. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Walker. Thank you so much and have a wonderful day.
