Shannon Hall, Executive Director of the D.C. Behavioral Health Association, has been quoted in several recent national and local media outlets.

  • The New York Times quoted Ms. Hall in a story about rising suicides at the D.C. jail. "'Mental health experts said that many if not most of the District’s mental health providers were losing money because the District had cut two critical reimbursement rates for Medicaid several years ago. 'Mental health providers are today in a fragile state,” said Shannon Hall, executive director of the D.C. Behavioral Health Association. 'All of my members are operating at a loss.'"

  • Ms. Hall was also quoted by the Washington Post, USA Today, and Kaiser Health News, in stories about state oversight of Medicaid managed care programs. "'I think we were shocked to find out how little oversight that there was,' said subcommittee chairman Shannon Hall, executive director of the D.C. Behavioral Health Association. 'They had great contracts with the plans, but as far as we could tell, none of them were being actively monitored or enforced.'"
